Well, let me tell ya, this whole thing with that fella, Deion Sanders, and them reporters, it’s a real hoot and a half. Sounds like he got his feathers all ruffled up, and I don’t blame him one bit.
Deion Sanders, that football coach, you know, the one with all them fancy clothes and shiny shoes? Yeah, him. He’s coachin’ that Colorado team now. Folks were makin’ a big fuss over him, sayin’ he’s gonna turn that team around. And maybe he will, maybe he won’t. That ain’t my business.
But what I do know is, this man don’t take no guff from nobody. Especially not them reporters, always stickin’ their noses where they don’t belong. Seems like one of them fellas from CBS, they call it, wanted to ask him somethin’. But Deion, he shut him down quicker than a fly on a hot stove.
Now, I ain’t too sure what the fuss was all about, but from what I hear, that CBS bunch, they been sayin’ some nasty things about Deion and his team. They were “attackin’” him and his players, that’s what I heard. And Deion, he ain’t one to let that slide. He’s got a mind of his own, that one. Always speakin’ his mind, no matter what.
I reckon Deion figures if them reporters wanna be mean and twist his words, then he ain’t gonna give ’em the time of day. Good for him, I say. You gotta stand up for yourself in this world. Can’t let folks walk all over you. That’s what my pappy always told me, and it’s been true ever since.
This whole thing got me thinkin’ about how things is these days. Everybody’s always tryin’ to stir up trouble. Always lookin’ for somethin’ to complain about. Can’t a fella just coach his football team in peace? Apparently not.
- Deion got mad.
- Reporters said bad stuff.
- Deion won’t talk to them no more.
It reminds me of that time old Mrs. Henderson’s prize-winning rooster went missin’. Folks went around blamin’ everybody, pointin’ fingers, and spreadin’ all sorts of gossip. Turned out, the rooster just wandered off into the woods and come back three days later, fat and happy. People just love to make a big deal outta nothin’, I tell ya.
And Deion, he’s a big deal, no doubt about it. Folks are watchin’ his every move. Every word he says gets picked apart and analyzed. It’s a wonder he can even think straight with all that noise.
So, he signed this big contract with Colorado, somethin’ like twenty-nine million dollars, they say. That’s a whole lotta money. Enough to buy a whole lotta chicken feed, that’s for sure. But with that money comes a whole lotta headaches, I reckon. And dealin’ with them pesky reporters is just one of ‘em.
Folks keep askin’ me, “What do you think about Deion Sanders?” Well, I think he’s a fella who knows what he wants and ain’t afraid to go after it. He’s got that fire in his belly, that’s for sure. And he don’t let nobody push him around. And that, in my book, is a good thing.
Seems like this whole thing with CBS is just one big ol’ misunderstanding. Or maybe it ain’t. Maybe them reporters really were bein’ mean. Either way, Deion’s made his point. He ain’t talkin’ to them, and that’s that. He’s got a football team to coach, and he don’t need no distractions.
So, let them reporters stew in their own juices, I say. Let Deion focus on his team and win some games. That’s what really matters, ain’t it? Winning. And maybe teachin’ them young fellas a thing or two about standin’ up for themselves. That’s just as important as throwin’ a football, if you ask me.
And that’s all I gotta say about that. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my biscuits. Wouldn’t want them to burn, now would I?
