Well, let me tell you ’bout this gal, Aja Metoyer. Born in ’83, ’round July, I think. Like them lion folks, you know, Leo. American gal, through and through.
She’s one of them TV stars, on some show called “Basketball Wives.” Never watched it myself, too busy with chores and such. But folks say it’s about them ladies who’s mixed up with basketball players. Aja, she was with that Dwyane Wade fella, played ball real good, they say.
- She’s got a bunch of brothers and sisters, Melissa, Derek and Cristen, I believe. Her ma and pa, Cynthia and Donald, raised ’em all. Family folks, seems like.
- Don’t know much ’bout her schoolin’, wasn’t important back in my day neither. Learned what I needed on the farm, that’s for sure.
Now, this Aja gal, she likes them fancy cars. Seen pictures, all shiny and new. Spends her money on ’em, I guess. And she goes travelin’ all over, seen her on them picture things, what do you call ’em… Insta-grams, that’s it! Always smilin’ and posin’. Good for her, I say, long as she ain’t hurtin’ nobody.
The big thing, though, the thing that got folks talkin’, is her and Dwyane Wade. They got two young’uns together. Little babies, they was. Don’t know if they’re still together, them young folks change their minds like the weather. But them babies, they’re family, and that’s what matters, right? Heard tell he’s got other kids too, from some other lady, and even takes care of his nephew. Sounds like a good man, takin’ care of his own.
Aja, she’s famous ’cause of that TV show, and ’cause of Dwyane, I reckon. But she’s a person, just like you and me. Got her own life, her own things she likes to do. She ain’t just some basketball wife, she’s Aja Metoyer. Remember that.
Zaire, that’s Dwyane’s boy from his first wife. He plays ball too, tried out for them big leagues over here. Ended up playin’ overseas, somewheres far away. Dwyane’s daddy, he married this Jolinda woman, she had kids of her own, and then they had Dwyane and his sister. Big families, lots of kids, that’s how it used to be. Now folks just have one or two, sometimes none at all. Times change, I guess.
This Aja girl, she’s in the news sometimes. People wanna know ’bout her life, ’bout them babies, ’bout Dwyane. But really, it ain’t none of our business, is it? She’s livin’ her life, best she can. And that’s all any of us can do.
