Okay, so I’ve been watching tennis for a while now, and one guy who’s always stood out to me is Alexander Zverev. Not just because of his killer backhand, but also because the dude is tall. Like, really tall. I always wondered, “Just how tall is this guy?” So, I decided to find out.
First, I did what anyone would do – I fired up Google. Typed in “Zverev height” and boom, a bunch of stuff popped up. Most websites were saying he’s 6 feet 6 inches, or 198 cm tall. That’s pretty tall, even for a tennis player.
But I didn’t just stop there. I wanted to see how that stacks up against other players. Turns out, there’s this American player, Reilly Opelka, who’s a giant. He is 6 feet 11 inches. I mean, it’s not even funny how tall this guy is. He and this other dude, Ivo Karlović, are tied for the tallest players ever on the ATP tour.
Comparing Heights
Then I dug a little deeper. I found out that Zverev and Medvedev are the two tallest guys to ever be ranked number 1 and 2 in the world. They’re both 6’6″. That’s wild. Imagine these two giants going at it on the court. I remember watching their match at the Australian Open in 2024. It went to five sets – a real battle of the titans.
- Reilly Opelka: 6’11” (211 cm)
- Alexander Zverev: 6’6″ (198 cm)
- Daniil Medvedev: 6’6″ (198 cm)
- Ivo Karlović: 6’11” (211 cm)
And then I stumbled upon something really interesting. Zverev has type 1 diabetes. He’s had it since he was four. That means he has to take insulin shots all the time. I have to give it to him, it does not stop him becoming such a great tennis player.
Oh, and one more thing. Zverev can speak German, Russian, and English. His parents were pro tennis players too, and they’ve coached him. Plus, he’s got a daughter named Mayla. Seems like a pretty cool guy, on and off the court.
So yeah, that’s my little deep dive into Alexander Zverev’s height and a bit more. He’s tall, he’s talented, and he’s definitely one of the most interesting players out there right now.
