Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this “Black Myth: Wukong” game, and let me tell you, it’s been a ride. I first heard about it a while back, and the whole idea of playing a game based on “Journey to the West” got me hooked. You know, that classic Chinese story? I’ve always been a fan.
I started by doing what anyone would do – I jumped on the internet and looked up everything I could find about it. The more I read, the more excited I got. I mean, the graphics looked insane, and the gameplay seemed like something right up my alley. It’s an action RPG, which is totally my jam. And apparently, some people are calling it a “soulslike,” whatever that means. Sounds cool, though.
So, I decided to give it a go. I downloaded the game and fired it up. The first thing I noticed was how beautiful it was. Seriously, the visuals are stunning. It felt like I was actually in the world of “Journey to the West.” I started playing, and let me tell you, the combat is no joke. It’s tough but in a good way. I spent hours just trying to master the moves and figure out the best strategies.
Gameplay Overview
- Combat: It’s challenging, but super rewarding when you finally nail it.
- Bosses: Oh man, the bosses are epic. Each one feels like a major accomplishment to beat.
- Story: It’s based on “Journey to the West,” so you know it’s got a rich background. I felt totally immersed.
I played through a bunch of levels, and there were definitely some frustrating moments. There were a couple of times when I noticed some stuttering issues, especially when moving between different areas. It wasn’t a deal-breaker, but it was a bit annoying. And some levels were just so much harder than other, I was stuck at a level, trying to beat the boss for like 2 hours before I finally did it. It was tough but satisfying when I finally won.
But overall, despite those little hiccups, I had a blast. I felt like I was living out a childhood dream, playing as Sun Wukong, this legendary character. I got totally lost in the game for days.
I even tried to get some of my friends to play with me, but they were all hesitant. Some had heard about some controversy surrounding the game developers and didn’t want to support them. Others were just not into this type of game. But I kept playing because I was having so much fun. At this point, I was obsessed with the game, to be honest. I would keep talking about it with my girlfriend, but she wouldn’t care that much.
I kept exploring, finding new secrets, and battling these crazy bosses. Every victory felt earned. I remember this one boss, it took me forever to beat, but when I finally did, I literally jumped out of my chair and cheered. My wife thought I was crazy, but she’s used to it by now.
I also found out that some players received a list of topics to avoid while streaming the game, including some pretty controversial stuff. I didn’t really care about all that, I just wanted to play the game.
So, yeah, that’s my experience with “Black Myth: Wukong.” It’s been a wild ride, full of ups and downs, but definitely worth it. If you’re into action RPGs and love a good challenge, I’d say give it a shot. Just be prepared to spend some time getting good at it, and maybe ignore some of the noise around it. It’s a solid game, and I’m glad I played it.
