Okay, so I wanted to get better at running the read option in NCAA 25. I’ve always struggled with it, but it’s such a cool part of the game, and I really wanted to figure it out. So, I started by just jumping into a few games and trying it out. Big mistake! I was throwing interceptions left and right, and my running backs were getting stuffed. It was a mess.
Watch those Defenders
Then, I remembered some advice I saw online about watching the defensive end or linebacker. I started to focus on one defender instead of the whole field. I watched what he did when I had the ball in my QB’s hands. This made a huge difference! If I saw him crashing towards my running back, I kept the ball with the quarterback and ran. If I saw him drifting towards my quarterback, I handed the ball off to my running back.
Practice, Practice, Practice
It wasn’t easy at first. I was still making mistakes, and it took a while to get the timing right. But I kept practicing. I went into practice mode and just ran read option plays over and over again. I started to see patterns in how the defense reacted. Slowly but surely, I started to get better. I was making better reads and getting more yards. I even started to score some touchdowns using the read option! It was a great feeling to finally see some progress.
Still Learning
I’m definitely not a master of the read option yet. I still make mistakes, and there are some defenses that give me trouble. But I’m a lot better than I was before. I’m actually enjoying using the read option in games now, and it’s made my offense way more dynamic.
My Tips for You
- Focus on one defender. Don’t try to watch the whole field. Pick out the defensive end or linebacker and watch what he does.
- Practice makes perfect. Spend some time in practice mode just running read option plays. It will help you get the timing down and learn to make better reads.
- Be patient. It takes time to get good at the read option. Don’t get discouraged if you make mistakes. Just keep practicing, and you’ll eventually get it.
So, that’s my journey so far with the read option in NCAA 25. It’s been a challenge, but it’s been really rewarding. I hope my experience can help some of you out there who are struggling with it too. Just keep practicing, and don’t give up!
