Man, so I was getting ready for this big game today, right? Mallorca versus some team, I forget. Anyway, I dug around to figure out where the heck this match was going down. Turns out, Mallorca plays their home games at this place called Estadi Mallorca Son Moix, in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. Fancy name, huh?
I found out this stadium’s been around since 1999. So it’s not exactly brand new. I also learned it’s about 130 miles south of Barcelona and 150 miles east of Valencia. Just a bit of a trip from the mainland!
I wanted to get the full scoop on the location, so I even checked the coordinates. Latitude 39 degrees 34′ 09″ North, Longitude 2 degrees 39′ 00″ East, if you’re into that kind of thing. It’s 34 meters, or 111 feet, above sea level. Pretty specific, right?
Then, I went down a rabbit hole trying to find out when and where to watch the darn game. Turns out, the date was set for Thursday, January 9th, 2025, at 7 pm GMT, which was 2 pm my time. That’s like prime time evening viewing back in the UK. The match was gonna be at some place called King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah. Not exactly around the corner, I thought.
I read somewhere that Mallorca had only played in the Spanish Super Cup twice before. They won it back in ’98, beating Barcelona. Not too shabby!
Then, I did something that cost me about $49.99, for getting my first month of Fubo, because I really wanna to see the game.
- First, I set my alarm for 1:50 pm on Thursday. Gotta be ready, you know?
- Second, I made sure I had all the snacks. Can’t watch a game without some grub!
- Third, I told my buddies about it. More the merrier, right?
The game time got changed, and it was now going to kick off at 8:30 pm BST on Sunday, August 18th. A bit of a scheduling mishap, I guess, but I was still all in! It was said to be at Estadi Mallorca Son Moix.
Game day rolls around, and I’m all set. I got my jersey on, snacks ready, and I’m hyped. The game starts, and it’s a back-and-forth battle. Then, in the 53rd minute, Mallorca scores! It was an equalizer.
What a day!
I gotta say, this whole experience was a bit of a rollercoaster. From tracking down the stadium info to figuring out the time changes, it was quite the adventure. But hey, that’s what being a fan is all about, right? You go through all this craziness just to see your team play. And let me tell you, it was worth it!
