Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this whole Alabama QB depth chart thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a ride. I started out thinking, “How hard can it be to figure out who’s going to be throwing the ball for the Crimson Tide?” Boy, was I in for a surprise.
First, I scoured the internet, you know, just googling around to get a feel for the situation. There’s all this talk about Jalen Milroe possibly heading to the NFL in 2025. And apparently, the team is having their spring scrimmage, the A-Day game, on April 12th. That’s some useful info, I guess, but it doesn’t really tell me who’s going to be the main guy under center, assuming Milroe is gone.
So, I dug a little deeper. I started looking at all the projected starters, the whole depth chart, for offense and defense. It’s a lot to take in, I gotta say. I mean, you’ve got all these talented guys, but trying to predict who’s going to be the starting quarterback is tough, that’s why I do some research. I tried to read some articles, but many articles assume that Milroe will not be in the quarterback room in 2024. Who else could start? It seems like a mystery.
I spent hours, seriously, hours, trying to piece it all together. I made a list of all the quarterbacks on the roster, watched some of their highlight reels – which, by the way, are pretty impressive, those guys can play! Then I compared their stats, looked at their experience, all that stuff.
My Current Thoughts

It’s a tough call without Milroe. There are several guys who could potentially step up, but no clear front-runner yet in my opinion. At least, not one that I can confidently say, “Yeah, that’s the guy.”

The A-Day game on April 12th might give us some clues. I’ll definitely be watching that to see who shines and who maybe needs a little more work. It’s like a sneak peek into the future, you know?

This whole process has been eye-opening. It’s not as simple as just picking the guy with the best stats. There are so many factors that go into it, especially when you consider the pressure of playing for a team like Alabama.
In the end, I’m still not 100% sure who’s going to be the starting quarterback for Alabama next season, after all Milroe is gone. But hey, that’s part of the fun, right? The anticipation, the speculation, it’s all part of what makes college football so exciting. I’ll keep following the news, keep analyzing the players, and maybe, just maybe, I’ll have a better idea soon. Until then, it’s all just a guessing game, but a fun one at that!
