Okay, so, today I want to talk about something I’ve been messing around with lately – Ron Harper Jr. Yeah, the basketball player. I was curious about what makes this guy tick, you know, on the court, so I decided to dig in.
First thing I did was watch a bunch of his games. Not just highlights, but full games. I wanted to see how he moved, how he reacted in different situations, the whole nine yards. I even rewatched some games multiple times to analyze.
The Observation Phase
- Watched tons of game footage.
- Focused on his movement and reactions.
- Took notes on his playing style.
After that, I started taking notes. Like, a lot of notes. I had pages and pages of scribbles about his shooting form, his defensive stance, his court vision, everything. Sometimes, I jotted down my first impressions and then went back to them after more game-watching to see if they held up. This is the most important part in my opinion!
Analyzing the Data
- Filled up notebooks with observations.
- Compared initial notes with later ones.
- Looked for patterns in his gameplay.
Then came the fun part – trying to find patterns. Did he favor one side of the court? Did he tend to drive more when he was having a good shooting night? Did he pass more when he was being double-teamed? Stuff like that. It was like being a detective, except instead of solving crimes, I was solving the mystery of Ron Harper Jr.’s basketball skills. I found out that I am good at this part!
Drawing Conclusions
- Identified his strengths and weaknesses.
- Figured out his go-to moves.
- Started to understand his basketball IQ.
Finally, I started to put it all together. I could see what his strengths were, what his weaknesses were, what his go-to moves were. I started to get a sense of his basketball IQ, how he saw the game, how he made decisions on the fly. It was pretty cool, to be honest. I realized that he is a very smart player on the court.
So yeah, that’s been my little project with Ron Harper Jr. It’s been a fun ride, and I feel like I’ve learned a lot. And hey, maybe I’ll even try to apply some of what I’ve learned to my own game. Who knows?
