Okay, so today I messed around with creating a digital portrait of Liv Morgan. First off, I grabbed a bunch of photos of her online. You know, just regular ones from matches, photoshoots, the usual stuff. I wanted to get a good feel for her features, her vibe, all that.
Then I fired up my tablet and stylus. I decided to use that Procreate app ’cause it’s pretty intuitive. Started with a rough sketch, just blocking in the basic shapes of her face, her hair, that kind of thing. It looked kinda wonky at first, but hey, that’s how it always starts, right?
Next up, I started laying down some base colors. I picked a skin tone that matched hers from the photos, then filled in her hair, her eyes. It was just solid blocks of color at this point, nothing fancy. But it was starting to look like a person, at least!
- I spent a good chunk of time on her eyes. They’re pretty distinctive, you know?
- I used a bunch of different layers for each part – eyes, hair, skin, lips.
- That way, I could tweak each one separately without messing up the others.
After that, it was all about shading and highlights. This is where it really started to come alive. I used darker tones to add shadows under her cheekbones, around her nose, and lighter tones to highlight the bridge of her nose, her forehead. Makes it look kinda 3D, you know?
Her hair was a bit of a challenge. It’s got all these different shades of blonde and some darker roots. I used a bunch of different brush strokes, some lighter, some darker, to try and get that texture right. Took a while, but I think it turned out pretty decent.
Details, details, details…
Once I was happy with the main stuff, I zoomed in and started adding little details. Some strands of hair here and there, the reflections in her eyes. I even tried to get her makeup right, though I’m no expert on that stuff, haha!
Finally, I added a simple background. Nothing too distracting, just a soft gradient that kinda matched the colors in the portrait. And that was it! It’s not perfect, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. It was a fun little project, and I learned a few things along the way. Maybe next time I’ll try a different wrestler. Or maybe I’ll just stick to landscapes, who knows!
