Alright, so I wanted to keep better track of Iga Swiatek’s matches. You know, stay on top of when she’s playing, who she’s up against, that sort of thing. I figured, “Hey, I’m a bit techy, I can probably whip something up myself.” It wasn’t as smooth as I thought it would be, but I got there in the end! Here’s how it went down.

The Initial (Overly Ambitious) Idea
First, I thought, “I’ll build a whole fancy program!” I was picturing all these features – automatic updates, maybe even a calendar integration. Yeah, that was a bit much for a quick project. I quickly realized I needed to scale things back.
Getting My Hands Dirty (and Confused)
I started by, well, just Googling “Iga Swiatek schedule.” I mean, you gotta start somewhere, right? That gave me a bunch of different websites, some official-looking, some not so much. It was a bit of a mess to sift through. I spent a good chunk of time just clicking around, trying to figure out which sites seemed reliable and had the info I needed.
Finding a (Somewhat) Reliable Source
I found a website for WTA and I decided to stick with that. The schedule there seemed pretty up-to-date.
The “Aha!” Moment (and a Simpler Approach)
Then it hit me: I don’t need anything fancy. I just need the basic information, and I need it to be easy to check. So, I ditched the idea of building a program and went with something way simpler.
The Super-Simple Solution
I made my own document!
- I opened up a plain text, and start listing schedule.
I copy schedule from the website I found. It’s not automatic, but it’s easy enough to update manually every now and then. I add new schedule to the document. Done! I’m keeping up with the schedule!
It’s not perfect, it’s not pretty, but it works! It’s a good reminder that sometimes the simplest solution is the best one.
