Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another story from my life. Today, I wanna talk about something that’s been on my mind lately: Carlos Alcaraz and his parents. Now, I’m not a huge tennis guy, but I gotta say, this young man’s story has really gotten me interested.
So, I started digging around, trying to learn more about this Alcaraz guy. First thing I did was look him up, see what the internet had to say. Turns out, this dude is only 20, and he’s already a big deal in the tennis world. But what really caught my eye was his family situation. They call him “Carlitos” or “Charly,” which I think is pretty cool. I found out he’s got one older brother and two younger ones. Kind of reminds me of my own family, always someone older to look up to and younger ones to look out for.
Anyway, I kept going. Found out Alcaraz started playing tennis when he was just four years old. That’s crazy young! His dad was a tennis coach at this place called Real Sociedad Club de Campo de Murcia. Imagine that, your dad being your coach. Must’ve been intense, but also pretty special. And his mom? She worked at IKEA as a sales assistant. A regular, hardworking mom, just like so many of us have or had.
Then I stumbled upon something even more interesting about family history. His grandpa or great grandpa was named Alvarez. He was a big-shot lawyer back in Cuba, but they had to leave everything behind and flee to the US when he was just a kid. Imagine having to leave your whole life behind like that. Tough stuff.
Family’s Support
But here’s the part that really got me. Alcaraz, even with all his success, seems super close to his family. I read somewhere that he said, “When I finish a tournament, it doesn’t matter if I win or not, I just want to get home to be with my family.” That’s the kind of thing that just hits you right in the feels, you know? He lives with his mom, dad, and brothers. And to them, he’s not some superstar, just their “Carlitos.”
His mom’s name is Virginia Garfia Escandon, and his dad is Carlos Alcaraz Sr. It was also said that his mom used to work at IKEA. It’s like, even with all the fame and fortune, his family is still just a normal, everyday family. I guess that is what keep him grounded.
I’m not gonna lie, diving into this Alcaraz family story has been a trip. It’s a reminder that no matter how successful someone gets, family is still the most important thing. And it’s pretty cool to see how much his parents and brothers have supported him along the way. It’s a good story, a real good story.
