Okay, so today I decided to figure out the Jets’ depth chart. It wasn’t as straightforward as I thought it would be!

First Try: The Official Website
My first instinct was, “Go to the source!” I went to the team’s official site, figuring they’d have the most up-to-date info, clearly laid out. I mean, that makes sense, right?
Well, I scrolled and scrolled. I clicked on “Roster,” then “Depth Chart,” and… nothing. Just a regular roster listing. No actual depth chart to be found. Seriously? I thought, “Am I missing something obvious?”
Digging Deeper: Fan Sites and News
Next, I headed to some of the bigger fan sites and sports news outlets. Surely they would have a depth chart. I found a few, but they all seemed a bit… off. Some had players listed in positions I knew they hadn’t played in a while. Others were clearly outdated, referencing players who weren’t even on the team anymore. Ugh.
Piecing It Together
So, what did I do? I took a deep breath and started combining information. I used the official roster as a base (at least I knew that was current). Then, I cross-referenced it with those fan-made depth charts, paying attention to the dates they were last updated. I also read recent articles and game recaps to see who was actually playing where.
My “Frankenstein” Depth Chart
The result? A depth Chart is born.

It’s not perfect, I’m sure. Things change fast in the NFL – injuries happen, players get traded, coaches change their minds. But it’s the best I could put together based on the available info. A true labor of (slightly frustrated) love!
It just goes to show, sometimes you gotta put in the work to get the info you need. And sometimes, even the “official” sources aren’t as helpful as you’d expect. Lesson learned!
