Okay, so, today I wanted to dive into something that’s been on my mind lately – those Borderlands 2 SHiFT codes. You know, the ones that get you golden keys and all sorts of goodies in the game. I finally took the time to try this out, and let me tell you, it was a bit of a journey.
First off, I started by searching online to figure out how to redeem these codes. There are two ways to do it – through a website or directly in-game. I decided to try both methods just to see how they work.
Redeeming on the Website
I went to the website and it took some time to sign in with my SHiFT account. Once I was in, I started looking for the place to enter the codes. I have to say, it wasn’t super intuitive. I clicked around a bit, tried to find the “Rewards” section, and after a few wrong turns, I found it! But the website didn’t work well so I gave up on it.
Redeeming In-Game
So, I launched Borderlands 2 on my PC. This part was easier. In the main menu, I navigated to “Extras,” and then “SHiFT Code.” It took a bit time to load my account. I saw a field to input the codes, which was pretty straightforward.
Now, where did I get these codes? Well, I found a bunch of them online. Some were really old, so I wasn’t sure if they’d still work. I started with one I found on a random thread – W3KJB-H9CBW-XRBRW-JTBTJ-9JRXK. I typed it in and hit “Submit.”
And guess what? It worked! I got a notification saying I received golden keys. I was pretty stoked, to be honest. Then, I tried another one – C35J3-5XSSK-SH6RH-K63TB-39S53 – which I found in the same forum. This one was apparently for Xbox, but hey, I figured it was worth a shot. Unfortunately, it didn’t work. But that’s expected, I guess.
I dug a bit deeper and found this gem – SXFBT-39953-J33TT-3T333-KSHW6. The forum said this one could be redeemed in multiple Borderlands games, and it gives you 50 golden keys for each one, or 50 skeleton keys in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, and even 10 diamond keys if you use it in Borderlands 3. I tried it in Borderlands 2, and boom – 50 golden keys! I mean, how cool is that?
I tried a few more codes, but a lot of them were expired. It seems like these codes have a pretty short lifespan. The forum mentioned that following Gearbox on Twitter is the best way to get new codes, but they’re usually only valid for a couple of hours. That’s a bummer because it means you have to be constantly checking for updates.
- Tried to redeem codes on the website – clunky and not user-friendly.
- Redeemed codes in-game – much easier and straightforward.
- Found a multi-game code that worked – 50 golden keys!
- Most codes were expired – need to follow Gearbox for new ones.
So, that’s my experience with Borderlands 2 SHiFT codes. It’s a bit of a mixed bag. On one hand, it’s awesome to get free golden keys and other rewards. On the other hand, finding working codes can be a real pain. My advice? Keep an eye on gaming forums and follow Gearbox on Twitter, but don’t get your hopes up too high. And if you find a working code, use it ASAP! It’s a fun little treasure hunt, but it does require some patience and a bit of luck.
