Okay, so I wanted to dig into Lamar Jackson’s playoff record. It’s been a hot topic, you know, with all the talk about his regular season MVP-level play versus his postseason performance. So, I decided to do a little digging myself.

First, I pulled up his basic career stats. Just wanted a general overview, nothing fancy. You know, get a feel for his overall wins and losses, touchdowns, interceptions – the usual stuff.
Getting the raw data
Next, I focused specifically on the playoff games. I made a list, year by year, of each playoff game he’s been in.
- 2018 Season – Wild Card Round
- 2019 Season – Divisional Round
- 2020 Season – Wild Card Round & Divisional Round
- 2023 Season – Divisional Round & AFC Championship Game
I made notes about the opponent, and Whether it is win or lose. Then I calculated his win-loss record in the playoffs. It’s simple math: Count the wins, count the losses.
Review
Then I looked at some game summaries, I wanted to get a sense of how those games went, not just the final score.
Because the final score won’t tell how those games went.
It’s a work in progress, and I’ll probably keep updating this as his career goes on. But for now, that’s my little deep dive into Lamar Jackson’s playoff record. It’s been interesting to see the numbers and get a better sense of things, at least from a stats perspective.
