Alright, so I’ve been messing around with this Genshin Impact character, Cloud Retainer, or Xianyun as some call her. She’s a 5-star Anemo Catalyst user, and let me tell you, she’s pretty cool if you’re into that whole “plunging attack” thing. Basically, she buffs your team’s plunge attacks and even lets characters who normally can’t do them, do them. Neat, huh?
So, first things first, I pulled for her. Got lucky, I guess. Then I started figuring out how to use her in my team. I was using Furina in my team at that time, and then I learned that, you might want to put Cloud Retainer in the middle of your rotation. This way, you get the maximum benefit from her buffs quicker. Makes sense, right? Because the faster you get it, the faster you can deal more damage.
I spent a good chunk of time just testing different team comps. Tried her with some of my strongest characters, and it was a blast watching them jump up and slam down on enemies. It’s a whole different way to play, and it felt kinda fresh, you know?
Building Her Up
Then came the grind. Oh boy, the grind. I farmed a ton of materials to level her up and get her talents up. It took forever, but seeing those numbers go up was satisfying, not gonna lie.
- Leveling Materials: I scoured the map for all those little items you need to ascend her. Felt like I was running around in circles at times, but it was worth it.
- Talent Books: Man, those domains can be a pain. But I kept at it, day after day, until I had enough to max out her important talents.
- Artifacts: This part took the longest. Trying to get the right stats on the right pieces was a nightmare. RNG was not my friend, but eventually, I put together a decent set for her.
The Payoff
After all that work, I finally had her built to a point where I was happy with her. And let me tell you, the payoff was real. Seeing those big plunge attack numbers was awesome. She really changed up the way I played the game, and it was fun figuring out new strategies and team comps with her.
So yeah, that’s my story with Cloud Retainer. It was a journey, full of ups and downs, but in the end, I built a pretty awesome character that’s fun to play. If you’re thinking about getting her, I’d say go for it. Just be prepared for the grind!
