Samantha Irvin, that name there has a story, oh yes. Born as Samantha Johnson on January 9, 1989, right over in Dennis, Massachusetts, she sure didn’t waste any time makin’ a name for herself. She’s known mostly from her work as a ring announcer for WWE, where she went by “Samantha Irvin.” And let me tell ya, she was the voice folks came to love every Monday night, calling out those wrestlers like she meant every word.
She got her start in WWE back in 2021, thanks to WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry who saw a spark in her. Now, she tried out for wrestling at first, but it wasn’t meant to be. Instead, they saw her talent for bein’ an announcer, and in April 2021, she started her career with WWE. She was out there announcing for WWE’s 205 Live at first, and folks took a liking to her pretty quick.
Now, talkin’ about her earnings, it’s no small sum. Word around is she made around $350,000 a year just from her announcing gig. That’s a fair bit more than most other announcers make! Not too shabby, huh?
But Samantha’s life ain’t all about just WWE and wrestling, no sir. Before all this, she had a whole life in music too. She started with classical music when she was just four years old and later found herself performin’ in big shows. From 2011 to 2015, she was the lead singer in Thriller – Live, a Michael Jackson tribute show. And in 2015, she went on America’s Got Talent, singin’ (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman. That gal sure has a voice, and fans of hers from that show still remember her for it.
And if that ain’t enough, she even has a music album out there called 27Underground from 2016. So, whether it’s wrestling or singin’, Samantha’s got it covered.
Outside of her career, she’s got a daughter from a past relationship. Her baby girl’s about six years old now, so she’s balancing life as a mom too. And in 2023, she got engaged to wrestler Ricochet. Seems they make quite the pair, those two.
Now, in 2024, she surprised folks by announcing her departure from WWE. Fans were shocked, of course, ‘cause they’d grown so used to her voice on Monday Night Raw. She posted a heartfelt message on social media, thankin’ everyone and sayin’ goodbye. Left many wonderin’ what’s next for her, but with the talent she’s got, I reckon she’ll be just fine.
So that’s Samantha Irvin for ya – a woman of many talents and a voice folks won’t be forgettin’ anytime soon. Wrestling, music, family – she’s done it all, and whatever she’s plannin’ next, bet it’ll be just as excitin’ as her time with WWE.
