Okay, let’s talk about Tiger Woods and how many times he’s worn that green jacket. So, I’m a huge golf fan, and I wanted to see how many times Tiger has actually won the Masters.
I started by hitting up Google, just typing in “how many masters has tiger won” into the search bar. The first few results were pretty clear – Tiger has won the Masters five times! 1997, 2001, 2002, 2005, and 2019. Wow, five times!
Then I started to check out more about Tiger. Turns out, he’s played in 358 PGA Tour events and won 82 of them. That’s like a 23% win rate. Insane, right? Compare that to Jack Nicklaus, another legend, who played 586 times and won 73, which is about 12.5%. Tiger’s really something else.
I was curious about Tiger’s first Masters win. It was back in 1997. He was just 21 years old! Not only did he win, but he won by 12 strokes, which is the biggest win margin in Masters history. And he was the youngest player to ever win the Masters. That’s one for the history books.
It’s crazy to think about all those wins. Five Masters titles, fifteen major championships in total – that includes the PGA Championship wins in 1999, 2000, 2006, and 2007.
So, to wrap it up, after digging around and checking out a bunch of different sources, I found that:
- Tiger Woods has won the Masters five times: 1997, 2001, 2002, 2005, and 2019.
- His first win in 1997 was a record-breaker, both for the margin of victory and for being the youngest winner.
- He’s got a crazy high win percentage in PGA Tour events compared to other legends like Jack Nicklaus.
Man, what a player! It’s been a fun little dive into golf history. I hope you enjoyed this little recap of my findings as much as I did!
