Alright, so I wanted to see if I could get back to the very beginning of Elden Ring, you know, the Chapel of Anticipation where you fight that first boss, the Grafted Scion. I started a new game, played through normally, and beat the *’s kinda tough, but it’s doable.

You know, I kept dying to the Scion first. It’s a real * I finally beat him, the story goes on, and you end up waking up in the Stranded Graveyard.
Finding the Way Back
So, the question was, could I get back to that starting area? Turns out, you can! You need to get to the Four Belfries in Liurnia of the Lakes. It’s on the western side, kinda up on a hill.
- I traveled to Liurnia, got to the Four Belfries.
- At the Four Belfries, there are these… well, belfries, and they have these special portals. You need an Imbued Sword Key to activate them.
- I found one Imbued Sword Key at the top most belfry.I remembered there were other two.
- I checked my inventory,I do have other two keys.
- I used the key on the second-lowest belfry(the one with the message talking about “anticipation”).
Then BAM! The portal took me straight back to the Chapel of Anticipation. It’s all stormy and dramatic.
The Rematch
And guess what? The Grafted Scion is there again! This time,I fought him with all my levels and gear. It was way easier than the first time. I totally crushed him!
What You Get
After I beat the Scion this time, he dropped the Ornamental Straight Sword and the Golden Beast Crest Shield. Pretty cool stuff!
I also explored around. I found the Stormhawk King’s ashes where Nepheli was in the intro cinamatic. You know you can give it to a certain someone, to make it a sprit summon!
So yeah, you totally can go back to the beginning, and it’s worth it for the loot and the satisfaction of stomping that boss that probably killed you a bunch of times at the start.
