My Wimbledon 2024 Follow – Coco Gauff
Alright, so Wimbledon 2024 rolled around. I always try to catch some of it, you know? This year, I decided I’d really try and keep tabs on Coco Gauff. She’s been making waves for a while now, and I was curious to see how she’d handle the grass this time.

So, the tournament started. First few days, I was busy, but I made sure to check the scores, see if she got through her initial matches. Heard she had a solid start. Didn’t get to sit down and watch a full match early on, just caught highlights here and there between work stuff.
Following the Progress
As she moved into the later rounds, I tried to tune in more. Watched bits and pieces of one of her matches – think it was maybe the third or fourth round? Can’t recall exactly which opponent. What I noticed was:
- Her serve was looking powerful, as usual. That’s always been a big weapon for her.
- Movement on grass seemed okay, sometimes looked a bit unsure, but that’s grass for you. It’s tricky.
- You could see the fight in her. Even when points got tough, she wasn’t just giving up.
It’s different watching on TV versus being there, obviously. You try to get a feel for the pressure, the atmosphere. Looked like she was handling the Wimbledon stage pretty well, mentally. That’s huge, especially when you’re young and expectations are high.
The Later Stages and Thoughts
I kept following her results as she progressed. Every win adds more pressure, more eyes watching. It’s tough. Saw she eventually got knocked out – think it was the semi-finals? Yeah, pretty sure. A good run, definitely. But you always wonder if maybe this was the year.
It’s interesting, watching these players develop. You see them come up, have big wins, face tough losses. Wimbledon is just such a different beast compared to other tournaments. The grass, the tradition, all of it.
My Takeaway
So, my little project of following Coco Gauff at Wimbledon 2024 ended there. She put in a strong performance, made it deep into the second week. You can see she’s got the tools. It’s just about putting it all together consistently, especially on grass which can be unpredictable. It was interesting to track her journey this year, just observing from my couch, you know? Makes watching the tournament a bit more engaging when you focus on one player’s path.
