Alright, let’s talk about this Jalen Suggs fella and his girl, or whatever she is to him. Folks keep jabberin’ on about it, so I figured I’d put in my two cents, you know, like we do at the market when we’re gossiping ‘bout the neighbors.
So, this Jalen Suggs, he’s a basketball player, plays for the Orlando Magic now. Big fella, I reckon. Folks say he’s real good, but honestly, I don’t watch much of that bouncin’ ball stuff. Gives me a headache. But the young’uns, they love him, cheering and hollering like he’s the second coming. Jalen Suggs, NBA star, that’s what they call him.
Now, the girl, Hailey Van Lith her name is, she plays basketball too. A tough one, they say. Her daddy, he played some sports too, baseball and basketball, so I guess it runs in the family. She’s a real go-getter, this girl. Always hustling, never giving up. Hailey Van Lith, college basketball star, then moved to LSU. That’s what the TV folks say. Folks like her fighting spirit, reminds me of my Betsy when she was chasing chickens in the yard.
So, these two, Jalen and Hailey, they say they were datin’ back in 2021. Young love, you know, like them birds in the spring, all twitterpated and such. But here’s the thing, folks keep askin’, “Are they still together?” Well, ain’t that the million-dollar question?
Some folks say they broke up, some say they’re still together but keepin’ it quiet. Like hidin’ Easter eggs, I tell ya. These young folks and their secrets! Back in my day, if you were datin’ someone, everyone knew it. We didn’t have no fancy phones to hide behind.

So, here’s what I think, and mind you, it ain’t worth more than a bucket of warm spit. If they’re happy, together or not, that’s all that matters. Love is a funny thing, comes and goes like the weather. Sometimes it’s sunny, sometimes it’s stormy, and sometimes it just drizzles a bit. Jalen and Hailey, a private couple, that’s what they seem to be.
Anyways, that’s the story as I see it. Jalen Suggs, Hailey Van Lith, two young folks playin’ basketball and maybe, just maybe, still in love. Or maybe not. Who knows? And frankly, who cares? As long as they ain’t causin’ no trouble, let ‘em be. We got enough worries in this world without frettin’ over who’s datin’ who.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go feed the chickens. They’re squawkin’ louder than a bunch of gossipy hens at a bingo game.
