Okay, so I’ve been messing around with some NFL stuff, specifically looking into Josh Allen’s 40-yard dash time. It’s kind of interesting, so I figured I’d jot down what I found and how I went about it.
First off, I hit up the internet to see what was already out there about Allen’s 40 time. I found that he ran a 4.75 at the NFL Combine back in 2018. That’s pretty quick for a quarterback, but not like, lightning fast compared to some of the other guys.
Digging Deeper
- I started comparing his time to other quarterbacks. I saw some mentions of Lamar Jackson and Justin Fields being faster, which makes sense, they’re known for their speed.
- Then, I stumbled upon some surveys where NFL folks ranked Allen as the third-best quarterback, behind Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow. Not bad at all!
- There was also some talk about how far he can throw the ball. Apparently, he says it’s around 75-80 yards. That’s a cannon!
I kept digging and found some stats about his rushing yards. He had 631 yards his rookie season and 767 rushing another season. Clearly, the guy can run. I also saw something comparing his 40 time to Gardner Minshew’s and Peyton Manning’s which was sort of interesting too.
So, after spending a good chunk of time reading through all this stuff, I put together a little summary for myself. It’s not super organized or anything, just my notes, but it helps me understand it better. Basically, Josh Allen is a solid quarterback with good speed, even if it’s not the absolute fastest. He’s definitely up there with the best in the league, and he can throw the ball a mile. That’s my take on it, anyway.
Overall, it was a fun little deep dive into Josh Allen’s stats. I enjoyed learning more about his abilities and how he stacks up against other players. Might do another one of these on a different player sometime soon.
