Well, let me tell ya somethin’ ’bout this fight, the one with that Keyshawn Davis fella. Folks was talkin’ ’bout it, so I figured I’d see what all the fuss was about. They said it was in Norfolk, Virginia, that’s where the boy’s from, I reckon. First time fightin’ at home since he turned pro, they say. That was back in 2021, so it’s been a spell.
Now, this Gustavo Lemos fella, he was supposed to fight Davis. Big fight, lots of people, sold out the place they said, over ten thousand folks packed in there like sardines. And let me tell ya, those Davis boys, they all fought that night. Keyshawn, and his brothers, Kelvin and Keon, they all won their fights. Must be somethin’ in the water them boys drink, all that fightin’ spirit.
They was sayin’ somethin’ ’bout Lemos payin’ money ’cause he was too heavy. A whole lot of money, six figures they said. That’s more money than I ever seen in my life, I tell ya. But Davis, that boy, he didn’t care. He went right at him.
- Fight started, and it was fast.
- Davis was hittin’ hard, like a mule kickin’.
- Lemos, he tried, but he couldn’t keep up.
Second round, bam! It was over. Davis knocked him out. Just like that. The ref, he jumped in there quick, didn’t want nobody gettin’ hurt too bad. They called it a TKO, technical knockout. Means the ref stopped it, see? Lemos, he couldn’t go on. Davis was too strong, too fast. Folks was cheerin’, goin’ wild. Davis, he was happy, I reckon. He won in his hometown, in front of all his folks.
They said Davis called out another fella after the fight, Tank Davis. Sounds like he wants another fight, that boy ain’t afraid of nobody. They say he’s undefeated, twelve wins, no losses. And he hits hard, eight knockouts they said. That’s a lot of knockouts. He’s a good fighter, that’s for sure.
Now, they didn’t say how much money Davis made for this fight, but they said it was probably ’bout the same as his last fight. Seventy-five thousand dollars, they said. That’s a whole heap of money, enough to buy a new tractor and then some. He’s callin’ himself “The Businessman” now, so I guess he’s makin’ good money. Fightin’ and makin’ money, that’s a good life, I reckon. Long as you don’t get your head knocked off, that is.
This fight, it was somethin’ else. Fast and furious, like they say. Davis, he showed everyone what he’s made of. He’s a fighter, that’s for sure. And he’s from Norfolk, Virginia, don’t you forget it. They’re proud of him there, I bet. He’s a hometown hero now. And that Lemos fella, well, he learned a lesson that night. Don’t mess with Keyshawn Davis, especially not in his own backyard.
They also said somethin’ about Davis winning by technical decision in the title, but that ain’t right. It was a TKO, plain and simple. Knocked him out, that’s what happened. Sometimes these reporters, they get things all mixed up. But I saw it with my own eyes, well, on the TV, but that’s close enough. It was a knockout, and a good one at that.
So, that’s the story of the fight, as best as I can tell it. Keyshawn Davis won, and he won big. He knocked that Lemos fella out, and now he’s lookin’ for another fight. He’s a fighter, that boy, and he’s gonna keep on fightin’, I reckon. That’s what fighters do. They fight and they win, and sometimes they lose, but they always keep fightin’.
