Oh my goodness, ain’t it somethin’ what’s been happenin’ with WWE these days? All them big names gettin’ released! I heard this morning from a few folks, WWE just let go of a whole bunch of wrestlers. That’s right, folks, they’re lettin’ go of folks like Corbin, Hartwell, and Nox. I reckon some of ’em are mighty surprised, but I guess it’s just the way things go in that big world of wrestling.
Now, I ain’t one to follow all them fancy rules and numbers, but from what I’m hearin’, this all happened right after WWE struck a big new deal with SmackDown for a whopping $1.4 billion. Can you believe that? All that money, and still, some folks find themselves without a job. That’s the harsh truth of the business, I reckon.
Take ol’ Corbin, for example. I heard he’s been around a long time, and now they ain’t gonna renew his contract. He’s been part of the WWE roster since 2019, and now his time’s up. Just like that, poof, he’s gone. Ain’t it the way? You could be on top one minute, and the next, you’re out the door. Ain’t no one safe in this business. Same goes for folks like Indi Hartwell and Tegan Nox.
Now, I ain’t sayin’ that they’re done for good, but I’m sure it feels like a mighty hard blow to folks who been workin’ their tails off for years. Mustafa Ali and Dolph Ziggler, they’re both in the same boat too. And I gotta tell ya, it don’t matter how much you’ve done for the company, it don’t seem like it matters much when they decide they’re movin’ on. I remember ol’ Hartwell herself said just a week ago, “It’s been a weird week of different feelings and emotions,” and you can bet I understand that.
Now, what’s gonna happen to all these folks? Well, that’s the million-dollar question, ain’t it? They’ll probably end up somewhere else, maybe smaller promotions or even back on the independent scene. But still, for some of ‘em, it might be hard to get back on their feet. And with all them layoffs goin’ on since WWE merged with UFC, folks can’t help but feel like they might be next. That’s just how the cookie crumbles, I guess.

Now, folks like me, we can only guess what’s next for ’em. But that’s the way this wrestling world is. One minute you’re a champion, the next minute, you’re lookin’ for your next gig. I reckon it’s a real tough life for a lot of these wrestlers. But hey, they’ve still got their skills, and as long as they keep their heads up, there’s always a chance they can find their way back.
