Okay, so, I’ve been digging into this whole “Cleveland Guardians mascot” thing. You know, since they changed their name from the Indians, I was curious about what they came up with for a new mascot.
First, I started by just doing a simple search. I figured, let’s see what the internet has to say. Typed in “Cleveland Guardians mascot” and boom, lots of stuff came up.
I scrolled through a bunch of articles and images. Turns out, they didn’t go with some totally new character. They decided to stick with “Slider,” the big, furry, purple thing they’ve had for a while.
- Realized Slider has been around since like, 1990.
- Found out he’s supposed to be some kind of… I don’t know, a creature of undefined species?
- Saw a lot of mixed reactions from fans about him. Some love him, some not so much.
Then, I dove a bit deeper. I checked out the Guardians’ official website. They have a whole section about Slider there. They talk about his personality, his appearances at games, and how he interacts with the fans. I don’t understand why the introduction is so short.
I also looked at some fan forums and social media. People were sharing their thoughts on Slider, and whether he fits with the new “Guardians” name. It’s a bit of a debate, it seems.
One thing I noticed was that they introduced a new mascot: a dog named “Hot Dog.” Seems like they wanted to give Slider a little buddy, I guess. It makes sense, but many people say they don’t like this new mascot.
My Thoughts
So, after all this digging, what’s my take? Well, I think it’s cool they kept Slider around. He’s got history with the team. But I also get why some fans wanted something totally new to go with the new name. It’s a tough call. Overall, I think it’s fine. Slider is okay. What do you think?
This whole mascot thing is pretty interesting, right? It’s more than just a guy in a costume. It’s part of the team’s identity and how they connect with fans. Or at least, that’s what I learned today.
Anyway, that’s my little journey into the world of the Cleveland Guardians mascot. It was a fun little research project. Hope you found it interesting, too!
