Alright, let’s talk about this fella, Luguentz Dort. Folks call him a basketball player, plays for that Oklahoma City Thunder team. Never heard of ’em myself, but the young’uns seem to know him. They say he’s from Canada, which is way up north, gotta be cold up there.
This Dort kid, he’s somethin’ else, they say. A real tough defender, like a guard dog guarding a chicken coop. Apparently, he sticks to them other players like glue, don’t let ’em do nothin’. They even gave him a nickname, “Dorture Chamber,” sounds kinda scary if you ask me. I reckon it means he makes it hard for the other team to score. Good for him, I guess, keepin’ them points down.
- He plays guard, whatever that means. Runnin’ around the court, I suppose.
- They say he can shoot the ball pretty good too, specially from far away. About 39%, whatever that means. Sounds decent enough.
- He went to college in Arizona, played for some team called the Sun Devils. Sounds like a bunch of troublemakers, them devils.
Now, this boy, he wasn’t even supposed to be in the NBA, they tell me. He wasn’t drafted, like them other fancy players. But he worked hard, I guess, and now he’s playin’ with the big boys. That’s somethin’, ain’t it? Shows you what you can do if you put your mind to it, even if you ain’t one of them chosen ones.
They keep track of all sorts of numbers for these players, you know. Points and rebounds and such. Says here Dort has thousands of points in his career, which seems like a lot. And he’s got rebounds too, that’s when you grab the ball after someone misses, I think. And assists, helpin’ his teammates score. He even blocks shots sometimes, stoppin’ the other team from makin’ points. He’s a busy fella, this Dort.
Seems like he’s still young, got a lot to learn. They say he sometimes makes mistakes, tries to do too much. But that’s alright, everyone makes mistakes, even us old folks. He’ll figure it out, I reckon. As long as he sticks to what he’s good at, that defendin’ stuff, he’ll be alright.
Heard tell he even played in the Olympics! Represented Canada, that’s somethin’ big, ain’t it? Don’t know how he did, but just gettin’ there is an accomplishment. Imagine, a boy from Montreal, playin’ basketball on the world stage. Who woulda thunk it?
They got websites and videos and all sorts of things about this Dort fella. You can look up his height and weight, how old he is. They even got his picture, I bet. It’s a whole different world now, ain’t it? Back in my day, we didn’t have all this fancy technology. We just played ball in the barn, and that was that. But times change, I guess, and this Dort fella is part of that change.
So, this Luguentz Dort, he seems like a good player, a hard worker. He ain’t flashy, maybe, but he gets the job done. And that’s what matters, ain’t it? Workin’ hard, doin’ your best, that’s what I always say. And this Dort fella seems to be doin’ just that. Good for him, I say. Good for him.
