Alright, so, you wanna hear about them Warriors and Clippers, huh? Them city boys runnin’ up and down the court, throwin’ that orange ball. I watched it on the TV, the one with the big screen my grandson got me. Don’t really get all the fuss, but it’s somethin’ to watch, I guess.
So, this game, the Warriors versus the Clippers. Sounded like a big deal. Folks was yellin’ and hollerin’ on the TV. First thing I noticed, them Warriors, they was clumsy! Yeah, clumsy! Turnin’ the ball over like they was holdin’ a greased pig. Nineteen times they lost the ball! Nineteen! That’s a lot, even for someone as old as me who drops things all the time.
Then there’s them free throws. You know, them shots they get for free when someone fouls ’em. They missed ten of ’em! Ten! My eyesight ain’t what it used to be, but even I coulda made a few of them. Just stand there and toss it in the hoop, right? Apparently not for them Warriors that day.
- Turnovers: Too many! 19 times they lost the ball.
- Free throws: Missed 10, can you believe it?
- Bench players: Didn’t do much, only 28 points.
And don’t even get me started on them fellas sittin’ on the bench. The “bench warmers,” they call ’em. They didn’t do much helpin’ neither. Only scored 28 points between ’em. Twenty-eight! That ain’t gonna win ya no games, I tell ya. When I was young, we had to work hard for everythin’, even restin’ on the bench watching others play they also put in some hard work . These fellas need to learn a thing or two about puttin’ in a good day’s work.
Now, them fellas who put the numbers on the TV, they said the Warriors was supposed to win. Said they was favorites by four and a half points. Don’t know what that means exactly, but sounds like they was supposed to win by a good bit. They also said something about the total points bein’ 225.5. Lordy, that’s a lot of points! But them Clippers, they didn’t care about no favorites or fancy numbers. They went out there and they beat them Warriors. Yup, they beat ’em!
The final score, it was somethin’ like 102 to 99. Close game, real nail-biter, as they say on the TV. But them Clippers, they came out on top. I heard tell the Warriors used to play in Oakland, then they moved to San Francisco. All that movin’ around, probably makes a fella dizzy, no wonder they lost the ball so much.
They also said somethin’ about the Warriors breakin’ some record a while back, somethin’ about bein’ the best team ever in the regular season. Beat some Bulls team from Chicago. Well, they sure didn’t look like no best team ever when they was playin’ the Clippers, let me tell you. They lost, plain and simple.
This game, it happened back in November, on the twenty-eighth, I think. Or maybe it was the eighteenth? I can’t keep track of all them dates anymore. All I know is, the Clippers won, and the Warriors, they lost. And that’s the story, as best as I can tell it. Don’t go expectin’ no fancy analysis from me. I just tell it like I see it.
So, next time you watch them Warriors, you keep an eye out for them turnovers and them free throws. And them fellas on the bench, too. Cause if they don’t fix them problems, they ain’t gonna be winnin’ too many games, I reckon. And that’s that.
