Alright, let’s talk about the Chiefs’ mascot. I’ve been meaning to figure out who this character is, and today I finally got around to doing it.

First things first, I started by searching about it. What is a mascot? I thought it could be an animal, a person, or an item. You know, something that could represent a team and bring good luck.
Then I did some digging specifically on the Chiefs. The amount of information is massive!

So, after looking into it, it turns out the Chiefs actually have a couple of mascots.
- K. C. Wolf: I found out this is a wolf character. Apparently, this guy’s been around since 1989. Makes sense, he looks fun and is probably a hit with the kids.
- Warpaint: This one’s a horse. But unlike K.C. Wolf who is a person in a costume, Warpaint was a real horse! He used to run in the stadium with a rider, but retired in 2021.
It was interesting to learn that they retired the tradition of a live horse mascot. But I can see how having a person in a wolf costume might be easier to manage.

In the end, learning about the Chiefs’ mascots was pretty cool. I like that they have both a fun, cartoony character and a more traditional, symbolic animal, though now retired. It shows they’re thinking of different ways to connect with their fans.
