Okay, so today I decided to check out this “Michael Phelps Longest Putt” thing I kept hearing about. I mean, the guy’s a swimming legend, but golf? I was curious.

First, I fired up my trusty old laptop and hit the search engine. I just typed in “Michael Phelps longest putt” and boom, tons of stuff popped up. Mostly videos, which was perfect.
I clicked on the first video that looked promising. It showed this crazy long putt, like, ridiculously long. I watched it a couple of times, just to get a good look at it. Then I started digging around for some more details.
The Process
- I opened several articles and videos.
- I learned that that the putt happen during a celebrity/pro golf tournament.
- I compared a couple of videos to see diffenent angles of this putt.
- I tried to find out the exact length of the putt. Some said 150 feet, others 159, some even 160! It was hard to get a definitive answer, honestly.
- I confirmed that it was a televised event.
After spending a good hour or so down this rabbit hole, I figured I had a pretty good handle on it. It was definitely a monster putt, no matter the exact length. I mean, I can barely make a five-footer, so seeing someone sink one from that distance was pretty mind-blowing.
Honestly, it made me want to grab my own clubs and head out to the course, even though I know I’d probably just end up embarrassing myself. But hey, it’s always fun to watch the pros do their thing, even if it’s just a single, amazing putt.
