Alright, so yesterday I decided to give this “Pamela Reif workout” thing a shot. You know, just to see what all the hype is about. I’ve been feeling kinda blah lately, and figured a good sweat might do the trick.

First thing I did was hopped onto YouTube. Found a video titled something like “Pamela Reif 20 Minute Intense Abs Workout.” Twenty minutes? Seemed doable. I mean, I can handle twenty minutes, right?
I cleared some space in my living room, grabbed my yoga mat, and filled up my water bottle. Gotta stay hydrated, ya know. Then I hit play. That’s where the fun began, or maybe the pain, depends on how you look at it.
The first few exercises weren’t too bad. Some crunches, leg raises… nothing I hadn’t done before. I was feeling pretty good, thinking, “Hey, this isn’t so hard!” Famous last words, right?
Then came the plank variations. Oh man, those plank variations. Side planks, plank jacks, plank with leg lifts… My core was SCREAMING. I was trying to keep up with Pamela, but she’s like a machine! I had to take a couple of breaks, I’m not gonna lie.
After the planks, it was all downhill (or uphill, depending on your perspective). More crunches, Russian twists, bicycle crunches… I could feel every single ab muscle I didn’t even know I had.
There was this one exercise where you have to hold your legs straight up in the air and then reach for your toes. I swear, my hamstrings were tighter than a guitar string. I almost pulled something.
Halfway through, I was questioning all my life choices. Why did I think this was a good idea? Why couldn’t I just be lazy and watch Netflix? But I pushed through. I told myself, “Just ten more minutes! You can do it!”
The last five minutes were brutal. My abs were burning, my arms were shaking, and I was sweating like crazy. But I kept going. I didn’t want to give up. Plus, Pamela’s upbeat music and encouraging words actually helped a little.

Finally, the video ended. I collapsed onto my yoga mat, gasping for air. I felt like I had just run a marathon. But you know what? It felt good. Really good.
I stretched for a few minutes, drank a ton of water, and then took a nice, hot shower. My muscles were sore, but I felt energized and accomplished.
So, the verdict? Pamela Hurts, but in a good way. It’s a tough workout, but it’s effective. I’m definitely going to try it again. Maybe not every day, but definitely a few times a week.
Here’s the breakdown of what I learned:
- Start slow. Don’t try to keep up with Pamela right away. Take breaks when you need them.
- Focus on your form. It’s better to do fewer reps with good form than a bunch of reps with bad form.
- Listen to your body. If something hurts, stop!
- Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Drink plenty of water before, during, and after your workout.
- Don’t give up! It’s tough, but you can do it.
Anyway, that’s my Pamela Reif experience. Hope you found it helpful or at least entertaining. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go lie down and recover. My abs are killing me!
