Alright, so I got this thing I wanted to do, right? It’s about the country flag for Sabalenka. You know, the tennis player. She’s from Belarus, but these days, they’re not showing the flags for players from Belarus and Russia in some tournaments. I wanted to see if I could do something about that, maybe make the flag show up on a webpage or something.
First, I dug around to find out what was what. Why no flags? Turns out it’s all tied up in the whole Ukraine situation. Okay, politics. Got it. Not my area, but I get the gist. So, no official flags, but that didn’t mean I couldn’t try something, yeah?
Next, I thought, “Okay, how do I even get a flag to show up?” I mean, I’m not a coder or anything, but I know my way around the internet. I figured there must be some way to just, like, display an image on a webpage. Simple, right? Turns out, yeah, it kind of is. You can use this HTML thing. I messed around with that for a bit, just trying to get any image to show up. Baby steps, you know?
Finding the Flag
Now, the real deal: finding the right flag. I went searching for the Belarus flag. Found a bunch of versions. Some were just, you know, not quite right. Colors off, or the design was a bit weird. I wanted the real deal, the official one.

Putting it on a Page
Okay, so I had this flag image. Now, how to get it on a page? I remembered that HTML stuff I was messing with earlier. I tried a few different things, copy-pasting code from some website, tweaking it here and there. It was a mess, honestly. But, eventually, I got it! There it was, the Belarus flag, right there on the page.
It wasn’t pretty, mind you. Just a plain white background with the flag smack in the middle. But hey, it worked! I felt pretty good about it. Like, I actually did something, you know? It’s a small thing, sure, but it was my small thing.
So, yeah, that’s my little adventure with Sabalenka’s country flag. I made it show up, even though it wasn’t supposed to, in a way. Maybe it’s not much, but it was something I wanted to try, and I did it. And that’s pretty cool, I think.
