You know that SoftBank Hawks, that baseball team? My grandson, he’s always going on about them. Says they’re the best thing since sliced bread. I don’t know much about baseball, but I hear things. Seems like they win a lot, those Hawks. That’s what folks say around here anyway.
They got some fellas on that team, I hear, real good at hitting that ball. One fella, Kensuke Kondoh, they say he’s the best hitter around. Hits it better than a fly swatter. Hits it over .314, whatever that means. Sounds good. I guess it’s good. Another is Ryoya Kurihara, 20 homers. He is also a very good man.
And that Kodai Senga, they say he’s a pitcher. Throws that ball real fast, like a chicken with its head cut off. He’s somethin’ else, that one. He’s the ace. And Alfredo Despaigne, Richard Sunagawa, all of them got some home runs. Make the people very happy.
- Kensuke Kondoh, that hitter, he’s the best, they say.
- Kodai Senga, that pitcher, he’s fast as lightning.
- They win a lot, those SoftBank Hawks.
- This team got money, SoftBank, they call it. They get the good players.
- They had a big win one time, 4-0. Big one, oh, man. Good days!
This SoftBank, they own the team, I think. They got money, lots of it. More money than a pig has slop. They must be doin’ somethin’ right, I reckon. They put that money to good use, getting all those good players. It is a rich team. They always get the good players, these guys cost a lot of money, you know.
They play a lot of games, these Hawks. Sometimes they win, sometimes they lose. That’s how it goes. But they’re usually winnin, the Hawks, especially at their home field. They had some winning streak, 14 games, 6 games, all of them are very long. That’s a long time to be winning. Winning 14 games straight! That’s more than I can count on my fingers and toes!
They had a game one time, I heard, against some team called Nippon Ham. Seems like the Hawks didn’t win that one. Some fella named Yuya Gunji hit a home run, three runs. I don’t understand all the rules, but it sounds like it was a big deal. That fella, Sachiya Yamasaki, he must’ve done a good job too. Then, Nippon Ham won the game, 5-1.
But even when they lose, people still like ’em, those Hawks. They still in the game, that Japan Series or somethin, I hear my grandson talking about it. That Ukyo Shuto, they say he made a great move in some game. They are very excited about this team.
This SoftBank Hawks, they’re a big deal around here, even if I don’t understand all the hoopla. They’re like the weather, everyone’s always talkin’ about ’em. Whether they’re winnin’ or losin’, rain or shine, folks are always talkin’ about the Hawks. Win or lose, they’re still the talk of the town, I reckon.
They got some good players, those Hawks. And they got that SoftBank money behind ’em. That’s a powerful combination, like a good mule and a strong plow. They’re gonna keep winnin’, I betcha. They’re gonna keep those fans happy. People always like that team. And they’re gonna keep my grandson glued to that TV screen, that’s for sure.
I don’t know all the ins and outs of baseball, but I know this: that SoftBank Hawks team, they’re somethin’ special. They’re like a good harvest, always bringin’ in somethin’ good. And that’s all that matters, ain’t it? Bringing in the good, whether it’s wins or home runs or whatever it is those baseball folks get excited about.
They are the most successful team. They win a lot, they got a lot of good players. The SoftBank Hawks are very good. But, you know, sometimes they also lose. That is just life. But they are still very popular. They got the good players, the good money.
Well, I reckon that’s all I know about those SoftBank Hawks. It ain’t much, but it’s somethin’. And in this old life, somethin’ is always better than nothin’. Just like a good rain after a long drought, somethin’ is always welcome. Especially when that somethin’ is a winnin’ baseball team that everyone’s talkin’ about. The Hawks, oh man, that is a good team!
