Okay, so, today I wanted to talk about something I’ve been messing around with lately – Texas State quarterbacks. I’m not a sports expert or anything, but I got curious about how these guys perform and what the deal is with the Texas State football program.
First off, I started by looking up when the next big game was. I found that they had a game scheduled for Friday, January 3, at 3 p.m. CT, in Dallas. Seemed like a good starting point to know when to pay attention.
Then I dug into the team’s background a bit. Apparently, they play in the Sun Belt Conference, which I learned is one of the college football leagues. What really caught my eye was that the program has been around since 1904, and they’ve got a winning record overall. I thought that was pretty cool for a team that doesn’t always make the national headlines. And get this, they have a total of 14 conference titles, with 9 of them being outright wins. That’s a lot of wins!
Next, I checked out where Texas State University stands in the college rankings. In the 2025 edition of Best Colleges, they’re ranked #273 among National Universities. Not bad, right? And for any students out there, their in-state tuition is $12,207, and out-of-state is $24. Just some numbers I jotted down.
I also stumbled upon some info about how to watch their games. There are a bunch of streaming services like DIRECTV STREAM, fuboTV, Hulu Live TV, and Sling TV that show their games. I guess that’s handy if you’re trying to follow them without cable. I’m not that dedicated, but it’s good to know.
After that, I wanted to see how the team was doing in terms of performance. It looks like their offense is pretty strong. They’re ranked 5th nationally in both points per game, with an average of 37.4, and total yards per game, with 473.9. I’m not sure how good that is in the grand scheme of things, but it sounds impressive to me!
Finally, I found out about an upcoming playoff game. It’s on Friday, Jan. 10, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. ET, at the ATT Stadium in Arlington. I guess that’s a big deal if you’re into college football playoffs. And there was another game, the 2024 First Responder Bowl, which is on Friday at 4 p.m. ET.
So yeah, that’s what I’ve been up to – just exploring the world of Texas State football and their quarterbacks. It’s been a fun little research project, and I feel like I’ve learned a lot about a team I didn’t know much about before.
