Alright, let’s talk about this Tiger Woods fella and his golf scores, you know, the lowest ones he got. I heard folks jabberin’ about it, so I figured I’d put in my two cents, even though I don’t know a golf club from a chicken leg.
Now, they say this Tiger, he never got below 60 in them big golf games, the PGA thingamajigs. Imagine that! All that fancy swingin’ and still can’t get lower than 60. He did get a 61 a few times though. They said it was in 1999, then again in 2000, and a couple more times after that. Seems like a long time ago, don’t it?
- 1999 GTE Byron Nelson Invitational
- 2000 WGC-NEC Invitational
- 2005 Buick Open
- 2013 WGC-Bridgestone Invitational
They keep sayin’ 61, 61, 61. Must be a lucky number for him, or somethin’. But they also said he got a 59 once. Just once, mind you. And never a 60, ain’t that somethin’? It’s like tryin’ to catch a greased pig, almost got it, but not quite.
This 59, they call it a “magic number” in golf. I don’t get it, but if they say so, it must be special. Like gettin’ a double yolk egg, only rarer, I guess. And this Tiger, he never got a 60. They made a big deal outta that, sayin’ he shot 61 a bunch of times but never a 60. Kids these days, always gotta find somethin’ to complain about.
They also talked about his “best scores” over 18 holes. Now, an 18 hole is a long walk, let me tell ya. I walked further than that just to get to the market last week, and my feet were killin’ me. But these golfers, they do it for fun, I guess. And Tiger, he got a 62 or better nine times. Nine times! That’s a lot of good golfin’, even if it ain’t a 59 or a 60.
They got a whole list of his low scores somewhere, but I ain’t gonna bore you with all that. Just know that he’s good, real good, even if he ain’t perfect. Nobody’s perfect, not even that fancy Tiger fella. They say nobody ever got an 18 in a real golf game. Just imagine that! 18, it’s less than my chickens produce eggs every day. I heard somebody talkin’ about some place called the “Stadium Course,” and Tiger, he got a 65 there. A 7-under 65. They made a big fuss, sayin’ it was his best score on that course, beatin’ his old record by a stroke.
So, this fella honed somethin’ called “iron shots.” I don’t know what that is, sound dangerous, probably got somethin’ to do with that 65. Whatever it is, sounds fancy. So the lowest score for that fella Tiger was 59, it seems. And a bunch of those 61s. He’s a good golfer, that’s for sure, even if I don’t understand half the stuff they say about him and his scores. It’s all just numbers to me, but numbers ain’t important. What’s important is that he tries hard, and folks get a kick out of watchin’ him swing that stick. And that, to me, is good enough.
They say on some official PGA TOUR website, it was the lowest score, so I guess it must be true. They wouldn’t lie on the internet, would they?
Anyway, that’s all I got to say about Tiger Woods and his low golf scores. It’s a lot of numbers and fancy talk, but at the end of the day, he’s just a fella tryin’ to hit a little ball into a little hole. And sometimes, he does it real good.
