Alright, so today I’m gonna ramble about my little deep dive into, well, Tom Kim, the golfer. I was watching a tournament, you know, just killing time, and this Kim kid was just… everywhere. So, naturally, I got curious.

First thing I did? Google, duh! Typed in “Tom Kim Golfer,” and boom, the internet exploded with results. Stats, highlights, interviews, the whole shebang. I started clicking around, trying to piece together his story.
I wanted to see what made him tick. I watched some interviews. He’s got this infectious enthusiasm, you know? Seems like a genuinely good dude. Then I dug into his swing. Slow-motion videos, comparisons to other pros… I even tried mimicking it in my backyard (don’t ask how that went).
Key takeaway: He’s got a crazy fast clubhead speed. I mean, seriously fast. Explains why he can bomb it off the tee.
Next up, I checked out his social media. Instagram, mostly. Wanted to see the behind-the-scenes stuff. What he eats, where he travels, who he hangs out with. Standard stalking, really. It gave me a sense of his personality outside of the golf course.
Then I started diving into some deeper analysis. Stuff like his strokes gained stats, his driving accuracy, his putting percentages. Real nerdy golf stuff. I used some sites that are usually for fantasy golf, but they are really good for basic stats.
- Strokes Gained: Approach-the-Green – Really good
- Strokes Gained: Putting – Above Average
I did a little practice thing for 30 min at a practice facility trying to copy some of his form but it was not easy. Not sure if that guy is human or a machine.
Finally, I just tried to watch as many of his rounds as I could find online. Full tournaments, highlight reels, whatever. I wanted to see him under pressure, see how he handled adversity. You can tell a lot about a golfer by how they react to a bad shot. He seemed pretty solid overall.
Bottom line: I still can’t play golf like Tom Kim (shocking, I know). But I did get a better understanding of his game, his personality, and why he’s become such a popular player. And, hey, maybe I even picked up a few tips to improve my own (terrible) swing.

Conclusion:
Overall it was fun and I hope to keep tabs on his career!
