Okay, so I’ve been seeing a lot of chatter online about “cfl income,” and honestly, I was clueless. I mean, I knew CFL was the Canadian Football League, but how people were making money off it besides, you know, playing football? That was a mystery. So, I decided to dive in and figure this whole thing out, and boy, was it a rabbit hole!

My Confusing Start
First, I just started Googling. Just typing in “cfl income” and seeing what popped up. I got a bunch of stuff about player salaries, which, okay, that makes sense. But I also saw things about betting, fantasy leagues, and even… selling merchandise? It was all over the place.
Digging Deeper
I knew I needed to narrow my focus. I decided to forget about the players’ salaries – that’s their job, not some side hustle I could try. The betting stuff? Also not for me. I’m terrible at predicting anything, let alone sports scores.
So, I started looking into the fantasy league thing. This seemed more manageable. Basically, you create a virtual team of real CFL players, and you earn points based on how well they perform in real games. There are different leagues, some free, some with entry fees and prizes.
My First (and Probably Last) Fantasy League
I joined a free league, just to get my feet wet. I figured, how hard could it be? I picked some players whose names I recognized (mostly from seeing them mentioned in news articles) and hoped for the best.
Let me tell you, it was a lot more work than I expected! I had to keep track of player stats, injuries, upcoming games… It was like having a second job, but without the pay.
Experimenting with the Merch
Then I thought about the other things like selling things. First, I searched for other stuff already there and tried to figure out the prices, how they were selling it, where, and to whom. This part wasn’t easy at all!
After spending some time searching, I had a better understanding and made my own. Then it was time to sell it!
The Reality Check
Honestly, after a few weeks, I realized “cfl income” (at least the fantasy league part) wasn’t for me. It was time-consuming, and I wasn’t very good at it. I ended up with a losing record and zero dollars to show for my efforts.

And for the merch part. I was only able to sell a few, very few, items. It was not a huge profit.
Maybe other people have more luck or skill, but I think I’ll stick to watching the games from the comfort of my couch – no spreadsheets or virtual teams required!
The merch part was a bit better, but it demanded a lot of time. I think next time I will investigate more before putting in the hard work.
