Alright, so I wanted to mess around with the batting stances in MLB The Show 22, specifically the legendary ones. I’ve always been a huge fan of trying to replicate the swings of my favorite old-school players. It just adds an extra layer of fun for me.

First thing I did was jump into the game and head over to the “Create” section. From there, I found the “Roster Control” option, and then picked “Edit Player”. You can really do this with any player, your created player, or even current MLB guys, but I wanted to tinker with a legend.
Next, I scrolled through the player list and picked a legend whose stance I wanted to either use or, you know, just check out for inspiration. After selecting the player I wanted to use, I just clicked through to their attributes, and found the “Stance” option – it’s usually buried in one of those menus, but not too hard to find.
Once I was in the stance editor, I could cycle through all the different preset stances. They have a TON of options, both current and legend stances. I spent a good chunk of time just flipping through them, seeing how they looked, and trying to remember who used what back in the day.
If a legend i remember isn’t avaliable in the game, I can also manualy adjust the preset stancs to make a custom stancve of a legend player!
- Hand position: I can use L2 and R2 to fine-tune the position of the hands.
- Foot Placement: The left and right analog stick will control the placement.
- Swing type: One-handed, two-handed, you name it. That was fun to toggle.
After messing around with the settings, trying to get the perfect look, I made sure to save my changes. The game will prompt it. The last thing I want is to lose all that hard work.
Finally, I took my newly customized player into a game to see how the stance looked in action. It’s one thing to see it in the editor, but it’s another to actually see it play out during an at-bat. I played a quick exhibition game just to get a feel for it.
