Alright, let’s talk about this Warriors and Clippers basketball game, you know, the one with all them fellas runnin’ around. Don’t know much about them fancy stats, but I watched the game, and lemme tell ya, it was somethin’ else.
Golden State Warriors, them fellas with the yellow shirts, they were up against the Los Angeles Clippers, the ones wearin’ blue and red, I think. Now, I heard some folks sayin’ Golden State was gonna win easy, but them Clippers, they put up a good fight, they did.
That fella, Kawhi Leonard, he was somethin’ special. He scored a whole bunch of points, like 33, and they say he made seven of them long-distance shots, the three-pointers they call ’em. Boy, could he shoot! He was like a hawk, swoopin’ in and droppin’ that ball right in the hoop.
- Kawhi Leonard: Scored 33 points, made seven 3-pointers. That’s a lot, even for this old lady to see.
- Other Clippers fellas: James Harden and Norman Powell, they were quick in the beginnin’. And that Zubac fella, he played some good defense, I reckon.
Now, them Warriors, they had some good players too. I saw one fella, he was shootin’ and passin’ and grabbin’ the ball off the backboard, real busy he was. They said he scored somethin’ like 26 points, got 7 of them rebounds, and passed the ball to his teammates for 6 assists. That’s pretty good, I guess. He did lose the ball a few times though, them turnovers they call ’em.
They were talkin’ about shootin’ percentages, somethin’ about how often the ball goes in the hoop. Said league average is like 57 percent, whatever that means. One fella, he played for 32 minutes, scored 9 points, got 9 rebounds, 7 assists and lost the ball 6 times. He only made 3 shots out of 7, but 2 of them were them three-pointers. He did miss a free throw though. Not his best day, I reckon.
Compare them teams, they say. Warriors and Clippers, head-to-head, see who’s better. They got regular season stats, playoff stats, even how many championships they won. I don’t keep track of all that, too much numbers for my old brain. But I know a good game when I see one.
They had this thing called “live stats,” where they showed you what was happenin’ right then and there. Points, rebounds, assists, all that jazz. It was like watchin’ the game on paper, but faster. Made my head spin a little, but it was kinda neat.
Anyway, the game was close, back and forth, real excitin’. Both teams were runnin’ and jumpin’ and shootin’, and the crowd was yellin’ and cheerin’. It was a real barn burner, as they say. Don’t remember who won, to be honest, too busy watchin’ them fellas run around. But it was a good game, that’s for sure.
So, if you’re lookin’ for the player stats, who scored what and all that, you can probably find it somewhere online. They got all them numbers and percentages and whatnot. Me? I just like watchin’ the game, seein’ them fellas play hard and try their best. That’s good enough for me.
One more thing, they were talkin’ about who’s the best shooter ever for the Warriors, highest shootin’ percentage and all. And someone asked about who had the best three-point shootin’ in a season. Don’t know the answer to that neither. Too many names and numbers for this old lady to remember. But it’s fun to think about, I guess.
And they were sayin’ before the game somethin’ about Golden State bein’ the favorite to win by 4.5 points. And they were guessin’ how many points both teams would score together, somethin’ like 225.5. I don’t know about all that predictin’ stuff, I just watch the game and see what happens. It’s more fun that way.
Anyways, that’s all I got to say about that basketball game. Hope it made some sense to ya.
