Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this thing called the “Bullet Club,” yeah, that’s the name. It’s some wrestling group thing, mostly in Japan, in that New Japan Pro-Wrestling, or NJPW, whatever they call it. I got into it ’cause I heard it was getting big, and there was some drama about a power struggle after some match in 2020.
First, I started digging around to figure out what this Bullet Club even was. Turns out, it was started back in 2013. Some wrestler, Prince Devitt, turned on his partner, classic wrestling betrayal stuff, and it kinda blew up from there. They got popular real quick, and people were talking about them all over the internet.
So I watched a bunch of their matches, trying to understand the hype. It’s a lot of flashy moves, bad-guy attitudes, you know, the usual wrestling showmanship. They got different members coming in and out, some guy AJ Styles joined in 2014, and he was a big deal, apparently. I gotta say, his matches were pretty entertaining, even for a newbie like me.
- Started watching old matches to see the origins of Bullet Club.
- Noticed the shift in style and attitude when Prince Devitt started the group.
- Focused on matches featuring AJ Styles to see his impact.
Then, I started looking into the behind-the-scenes stuff. Found out that New Japan Pro-Wrestling cooked up this whole Bullet Club idea because fans liked that Devitt guy’s heel turn. Smart move, I guess, ’cause it worked. They even made a DVD about the history of the group, and it’s in some arcade game, Tekken 7, I think.
The more I read, the more I realized this wasn’t just about the wrestling moves. It’s about the story they’re telling, the rivalries, the alliances, all that jazz. Some former members even made their own groups, like The O.C. in WWE, trying to copy the Bullet Club’s vibe. And they have all these connections with other wrestling groups, like All Elite Wrestling or something.
Getting Deeper into the Fandom
I joined some online forums, talked to other fans, and it’s a whole community. They’ve got their own slang, inside jokes, the whole nine yards. They debate about who’s the best leader, who should be in the group, who should be kicked out. It’s intense, man.
I even tried to make sense of all the championships they’ve won. They’ve got titles from all over the place, not just Japan. It’s a mess, honestly, but it shows how big they’ve gotten.
So yeah, that’s my Bullet Club deep dive. I started out just curious, and now I’m kinda hooked. It’s a wild ride, and I’m still trying to figure it all out, but it’s definitely been an experience.
