Alright, so check this out, I was messing around trying to figure out something kinda nerdy: How many pars were there at the 2023 Masters. Sounded simple enough, right? Boy, was I wrong.

First thing I did was hit up Google, just typed in “how many pars 2023 masters.” Figured it’d be right there, a nice clean number. Nope. Got a bunch of articles about the Par 3 contest and how awesome it is, which, yeah, cool and all, but not what I needed.
Then I started digging a bit deeper. I remembered something about Augusta being a par 72 course. So I was like, okay, let’s find out how many rounds were played, then multiply that by 72, and that’ll give me the potential number of pars. I found that each player plays 4 rounds, if they don’t get cut.
Next I had to find the number of players that completed all 4 rounds. That wasn’t exactly easy to find either! Eventually I found the total number of pars at Masters in 2023 was 3029. There it was! That felt like a win, even though it was a random stat.
But then I got thinking, why stop there? What about the course itself? Found out Augusta is long, like really long. Over 7,500 yards! And they even stretched out the tee box on the second hole by 10 yards. Madness!
Finally, I stumbled upon info about the Par 3 contest. That’s a whole other thing. A nine-hole course, par-27. They were going on about it being live on * and all that. But I just wanted to know how many pars that contributed to the grand total of pars played at the masters. Never found a total on that.
Anyway, that’s my little adventure for the day. Just a bunch of googling and trying to piece together some random golf stats. Hope you found it mildly entertaining!
