Okay, so I was watching some wrestling the other day, and this dude Dominik Mysterio kept popping up. I knew of Rey Mysterio, the high-flying masked wrestler, but I was like, “Who’s this Dominik guy’s stepfather?” I mean, everyone talks about Rey being his dad, but the stepfather thing threw me for a loop. No luck. It was all about Dominik and Rey, their father-son relationship (which, let me tell you, is a whole other story). Lots of betrayal, family feuds, the usual wrestling stuff. But, there were zero word about stepfather.

Next, I looked up some fan pages and stuff. Usually, fans know everything, so I thought maybe they’d have the answer. I scrolled through, and read some people’s ideas.

- Read some blog posts about the Mysterio family.
- Even watched some fan-made videos, some of which were…interesting.
The Truth Comes Out!
Turns out, after all that, the simple answer is: there’s a misunderstanding! Rey Mysterio is Dominik’s actual, biological dad. His real name isn’t even “Rey Mysterio” – it’s something like Oscar Gutierrez Rubio. He just uses “Rey Mysterio” because his uncle, also a wrestler, did.
So, the whole stepfather question? Seems like it’s coming from not knowing who his real father is, or maybe just getting the story mixed up. It happens! Wrestling can be a little confusing with all those characters and storylines, so it is reasonable to misunderstand who is who.
Anyway, mystery solved! No stepfathers here – just a father and son with a very complicated relationship, playing out in the wrestling ring.
