So, I got curious about the Texas Longhorns football scene the other day. Just wanted to know who’s steering the ship over there now.

Started digging around a bit online. The name that kept coming up was Steve Sarkisian. Seems like everyone agrees he’s the head coach, the main guy trying hard to make Texas football a big deal again. Heard he’s been doing a decent job turning things around, getting them back in the spotlight.
Checking Out the Coaching Team
Then I went down a bit of a rabbit hole looking at the rest of the coaching staff. You know how these teams work, always changing people around. I saw some chatter, like reports saying they might have hired a guy named Mark Orphey to coach the safeties. Apparently, he’d be replacing Blake Gideon. Always interesting to see who they bring in to handle different parts of the team.
A Little More Digging
Just out of nosiness, I looked up a bit more about Sarkisian himself. Found out he’s married to a woman named Loreal. Seems they actually met way back when they were both working at USC – he was coaching football, and she was coaching track and field. Looks like they got married back in 2020.
It’s kinda funny, sometimes when you’re searching for stuff about Texas coaches, you get mixed up with the pro teams too. Like, I saw the name DeMeco Ryans mentioned, but then I realized, wait, that’s the head coach for the Houston Texans, the NFL team. Gotta keep the college Longhorns and the pro Texans straight!
Anyway, that was my little dive into the Texas Longhorns coaching situation. Seems like Sarkisian is definitely the guy in charge, pushing the team forward. Always something going on in college football.
