Alright, let’s talk about this Warriors and Knicks game, you know, the one with all them fellas runnin’ and jumpin’ and throwin’ that ball around. I watched it, kinda sorta, while I was, you know, doin’ my things around the house. So, lemme tell ya what I saw, or what I think I saw, anyway.
First off, that Curry fella, Steph Curry, they say he’s real good. And yeah, I guess he is. He was throwin’ that ball and it went in the hoop more times than not. He’s quick, like a little rabbit, dartin’ around all over the place. Hard to keep an eye on him, that’s for sure. They was sayin’ somethin’ ’bout his “stats” bein’ good. Don’t know what that means exactly, but I reckon it means he played good, right?
- He shot the ball good.
- He ran fast.
- He made the ball go in the hoop.
Then there’s this other fella, Draymond Green. He’s big, real big. He ain’t as fast as that Curry, but he’s strong. He was pushin’ and shovin’ and grabbin’ that ball. He didn’t score as much as Curry, but he was doin’ somethin’ important, I guess. They was yellin’ at him a lot, both sides. Guess that means he’s doin’ somethin’ right, or maybe wrong, who knows? It’s all a bunch of noise to me, honestly.
Now, the Knicks, them fellas… well, they tried. They really did. They ran and jumped and threw the ball too, but it just didn’t go in the hoop as much as the Warriors’ ball did. They got some fellas who are pretty good, I guess, but they ain’t no Steph Curry, that’s for sure. There was this one fella, can’t remember his name, tall guy, he was tryin’ real hard, but it wasn’t enough, you know? He kept missin’ them shots, and I felt kinda bad for him. It’s like when you try to thread a needle and your eyes ain’t what they used to be, just can’t get it done.
They was talkin’ ’bout this bein’ a “match,” a “game.” And they got all these numbers, these “player stats.” I tell ya, it’s too much for my old brain. All I know is, one team scored more points than the other, and that team, the Warriors, they won. That’s all that matters, right? Who scored the most points. Simple as that.
This whole “NBA” thing, it’s a big deal, I hear. People get all worked up over it. Yellin’ and screamin’ at the TV. Me? I just watch and try to figure out what’s goin’ on. Sometimes it’s fun, sometimes it’s just noise. But them fellas, they sure do work hard. Runnin’ and jumpin’ like that for hours. Makes my knees hurt just lookin’ at ‘em.
Anyways, that’s what I saw, or what I remember seein’. The Warriors played good, Curry was quick, Green was big, and the Knicks… well, they tried. And that’s the long and short of it, as far as I can tell. Don’t ask me about no fancy stats or nothin’, ’cause I ain’t got a clue. I just watched the ball go in the hoop, and that’s good enough for me.
Oh, and they had another game before this one too. Warriors played the Knicks in December, the 14th I think. I didn’t watch that one, too busy bakin’ cookies. But I heard Warriors won that one too. Seems like they win a lot, those Warriors. Good for them, I guess. Keeps folks entertained, keeps ’em happy. And that ain’t a bad thing, now is it?
I even hear tell some folks use somethin’ called “Stathead” to check on all them fancy numbers. Said it tells you a story, them numbers do. Well, I got my own stories, and they don’t need no numbers. My stories are about chickens and gardens and grandkids, not about fellas throwin’ a ball around. But hey, to each their own, right?
In conclusion, the Warriors won. That’s what matters. And them fellas played hard, both sides. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my biscuits.
