Okay, so I’ve been meaning to get a better handle on the four golf majors. I mean, everyone talks about them, but I wanted to really know them, you know? So, I dove in.

My Little Deep Dive into Golf’s Big Four
First, I started with some basic searching. Just typing in “four golf majors” to see what popped up. I found a bunch of articles and websites listing them out, which was a good start.
Then, I decided to tackle them one by one. I figured that was the best way to keep them all straight in my head.
- The Masters: I learned this one is always held at Augusta National Golf Club. Pretty cool, that tradition. And it’s the first major of the year, usually in April.
- The PGA Championship: This one moved around to different courses, which I didn’t realize before. I saw that it’s usually played in May now.
- The U.S. Open: I discovered that this one is known for being super tough. Really challenging courses, apparently. It happens in June.
- The Open Championship (or the British Open): I found out this is the oldest of the four, which is neat. And it’s always played on a links course, whatever that means. That I need to research it again. It takes part in July.
I spent a good chunk of time reading up on the history of each tournament, too. Who won the most times, some of the famous moments, that kind of thing. It was actually pretty interesting.
Finally, I watched some highlight videos on the net, just to get a feel for what each tournament is like. That really helped me visualize the whole thing.
So, I feel that I got what I wanted, it is much better now after this little project.
