So, yesterday, I tried to get some tickets for the Yankees vs. Giants game. Man, what a ride that was.
First, I went online, thinking it would be easy. I mean, how hard could it be, right? I started looking at different websites. Some sites said tickets start as low as 20 bucks! That sounded pretty good. But then I saw that other places were selling them for way more. It was a mess. I even saw sites mentioning places like Yankee Stadium and Oracle Park, which made me think about actually going there in person.
Then, I looked at sites like StubHub and Vivid Seats, you know, the secondary markets. I heard people talking about them. They had a ton of options, but I was a bit nervous about buying from them. I’ve heard stories, good and bad.
- Checked online ticket sites
- Explored secondary market options
- Considered going to the stadium
After that, I found this website called *. They claimed to be a “top source” for these tickets. I spent some time there, browsing around. It was okay, but I wasn’t completely sold.
Next up was this viagogo place. They called themselves the “world’s largest ticket marketplace.” Their website was all fancy and said they used cookies to give me a “great user experience.” Whatever that means. Anyway, they also had a bunch of tickets, but I still wasn’t sure.
I also checked out SeatGeek. It was interesting because they said every ticket was “verified and trusted.” That made me feel a little better. Plus, they said I would be getting tickets from “other real Yankees fans.” Kind of cool, I guess.
Then I thought, what if I tried to book someone, like a former Yankees player, for an event? I found this place called Athlete Speakers. They help you book players for appearances, meet and greets, stuff like that. Their number was 800-916-6008, but I didn’t call. It was just a thought.
Realization
In the end, I realized how big the Yankees are. I read somewhere that they are the “most valuable MLB franchise” and also the “fastest growing.” Crazy, right? I mean, everyone seems to be talking about them.
Well, I haven’t gotten the tickets yet, but this whole experience has been eye-opening. It’s not just about the game, it’s about the whole scene, the fans, the business, everything. I’m still deciding what to do, but I wanted to share this crazy journey with you all.
