That Zach Edey boy, he’s somethin’ else, ain’t he? Big fella, real big. I heard folks talkin’ ’bout his ethnicity. Where’s he from, what’s his blood? Well, I done heard some things, seen some things on that there internet. Gonna tell ya what I know.
They say he was born in a place called Toronto. Up in Canada. Big city, I reckon. May 14th, 2002, that’s the day he came into this world. Now, his mama, Julia, she’s a good woman, I hear. Her folks, they come from China, a long, long way away. But she was born in Toronto too, just like Zach. They call her Chinese descent. She used to play that basketball, too, back in the day. Not as tall as Zach, though. Only about 6 foot 3, they say. Still, that’s pretty tall for a woman!
Now, his daddy, Glen, he’s a white fella. Good man, I’m sure. They say he played baseball when he was younger. And Zach, he played baseball, too. And ice hockey! Can you believe it? A big fella like that, skatin’ on the ice. But that was before he got so big and started playin’ all that basketball.
So, what’s that make Zach, you ask? Well, he’s a mix, ain’t he? Got that Chinese from his mama, and whatever his daddy is from his daddy. They call him Chinese-Canadian. That means he’s got a little bit of both in him. And since he was born in Canada, that makes him a Canadian. Plain and simple. He’s a Canadian boy, through and through.
- Born in Toronto, Canada
- Mama’s from Chinese descent
- Daddy is white
- Zach played baseball and hockey before
- He’s Chinese-Canadian
He’s from Toronto, growed up there, spent his whole life there, ’til he went off to play that basketball for that Purdue place. That’s a college, you know. Far away from Toronto. But he’s still a Canadian boy at heart. Don’t you forget it.
This whole ethnicity thing, it’s just about where your folks are from, way back when. Don’t matter too much, if you ask me. What matters is, he’s a good boy, that Zach. Plays that basketball real good. Makes his mama and daddy proud, I bet.
That “NIL” thing, what they call “name, image”. That means he can make some money, from his name and such. Good for him, I say! He works hard. Earns every penny. That’s all I know, about that.
He grew up “north of the border”, I read somewhere. That just means up in Canada. That’s where Toronto is, you see. Up north. Cold up there, I imagine. Lots of snow. Good place to play ice hockey, I suppose.
So, there you have it. That’s what I know about that Zach Edey boy and his ethnicity. He’s a Chinese-Canadian, born and raised in Toronto. A good Canadian boy, playin’ basketball down in the States. And doin’ real good, too. That’s all that really matters, ain’t it?
He’s a good kid, that’s what folks say. That’s all I care about. Where he’s from, who his folks are… that’s just details. He’s a good basketball player. And a good boy. That’s enough for me. That’s all about that Zach Edey’s parents, and his life. I think I heard enough.
That college he plays for, Purdue, they’re lucky to have him. He’s gonna go far, that boy. You just wait and see. He will be a big star, bigger than he is now. I just know it. He has that thing, you know, that thing that makes people special. I can see it in him. Just like I can see the good in people, I can see the greatness in him. He’s got it. And that NIL, good for him. I hope he makes a lot of money. He should, a boy like that. So, I will say it again, his ethnicity is Chinese-Canadian, his nationality is Canadian, and he is a good boy. That is all I know.
